This was a great project to work on! The Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI) had content on two websites (FCM/Federation of Canadian Municipalities and Cando/Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers).
We worked with both FCM and Cando to combine all this content on a single website—with a French version, of course.
Our content writers combed through both websites (FCM and Cando) to find all the relevant pages and compiled them in a logical manner on the new website. And then they did it all again for the French content!
For the new website, we created custom graphics to match their brand. Graphics are especially valuable on sites where there’s a lot of text. They help to break up the text, clarify concepts, and appeal to visual learners.
This website is very content heavy, with frequent additions and updates. Fortunately, our hosting package ensures their website is always secure, loads quickly, and can handle all the visitors and access that occur every day.
The Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI) brings together First Nations and municipalities and supports them in economic collaborations. Working through the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers/Cando and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities/FCM, the collaborations are creating great benefits for everyone who’s involved.

With two large, content-heavy websites carrying CEDI information, it was hard for visitors to find the content they needed. CEDI needed their own website where they could easily add more information and provide a great user experience.
We gathered a lot of information that needed to be added to the CEDI site. This made it especially important to use plain language and organize the content in the best way possible. With so much text, it was also important to adding visuals to break up the content and make it easier to read.
The new CEDI website came together beautifully. It’s easy to find information, and the French version is equally accessible. The content is well-organized, and the wonderful people at CEDI can quickly and easily add new content as needed.
